Who We AreAn Infinite Mind Board of Directors
Melissa is an avid learner and lover of diversity and culture. She is a Licensed Master's Social Worker (TN) and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (DC). She has provided education, advocacy, support, and clinical services to children, adults, and families. She has experience working with individuals who are facing transitions due to grief & loss or phase-of-life changes, college students, children & families affected by abuse & neglect, and veterans. Melissa has also taught courses and workshops related to cultural diversity and ethics, stress management, patient health, death & dying, and counseling & social work principles. Her professional interests include women's rights and issues, professional development, and family dynamics. She identifies as a thriving survivor who continuously empowers others to break the silence and to begin their healing journeys. Melissa calls herself an egalitarian feminist who seeks to educate society about issues impacting women while inviting men to increase awareness about sexual abuse, molestation, rape, incest, and its aftermath. She is honored to serve on the board of An Infinite Mind as she values its mission in educating others about DID, shattering its myths, and giving a voice to its survivors.
